Through this dahlia, I wanted to show the delicacy and resilience of nature, something that we should treasure and care for. I use the anticlastic raising technique to shape each silver petal over forming stakes with various hammers to achieve the light and airy quality of a delicate flower. The petals were depletion guilded and edges were polished for textural and color contrast. Peridot and Blue Topaz beads were then sewn to the center with sterling wires.
